Design origin

Cahokisect is based on a scarab beetle and a calavera, also known as an ornate sugar skull, typical of Día de Muertos, the Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday that has roots in Aztec culture. It also features some Aztec jewelry design elements.

Name origin

Cahokisect's name is a combination of Cahokia, a prosperous Native American trading civilization which left behind burial mounds, and insect.
