Trivia[]

Design origin[]

Sphinx2

Early concept art of Cairup.

Cairup is based on a jackal pup, as well as the idea of a young sphinx which hasn't yet grown wings. The snake-like head on its tail is reminiscent of a chimera, another monster from Greek mythology. Its third eye may be a reference to third eye imagery found in Eastern religions, where it represents spiritual enlightenment.

Name origin[]

Cairup's name is a combination of Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and pup.
