Trivia [ ]
Design origin [ ]
Calphite is based on an Indricotherium , a giant hornless rhinoceros-like mammal from the Oligocene epoch . Seeing as to how it has a horn, it probably also draws inspiration from modern-day rhinoceros, such as the Indian rhinoceros .
Name origin [ ]
Calphite's name is a corruption of calcite , a common mineral found in sedimentary rocks. It incorporates the sound of calf , referring to the young of large mammals.
