Doppole carries around the lid of a broken Poké Ball, which is attached to the suction cap on the end of its tail. Doppole can be found in the wild with a Poké Ball, Great Ball, or Ultra Ball helmet.
A Doppole that hatches from an egg will have the same kind of Poké Ball as its mother (or father if the mother was a Viipii).
Pokédex entry[]
Pokédex entry
Doppole wears a half of a broken Poké Ball as a sturdy improvised helmet. Whilst it might act bold and spunky, in reality, it loves being coddled.
Despite their appearance and name, Doppole and its evolution are not amphibians.
Design origin[]
Doppole follows the well-established tradition of Pokémon that resemble item balls, for the purpose of tricking a player into thinking it is an item in the overworld.
Name origin[]
Doppole's name is a combination of doppelgänger, a mythical omen of bad fortune in the form of an unrelated look-alike, and tadpole.
