Trivia [ ]
Like all Legendary Golems, Erion was intentionally designed with a 4x Ground-type weakness to represent the impermanence of human triumph.
Erion is the only member of the Golem trio whose latter part of its name is not identical to its species name. It used to be the "Iron Age Pokémon", but this was changed to better match its origin.
The members of the Golem Trio each have a different number of eyes that increase with their Pokédex number: Eronze has 1, Erion has 2, and Erace has 3.
Design origin [ ]
Early concepts and designs for Erion.
Erion is based on artificially-created humanoids , such as the golem of Jewish folklore or the automata of Greco-Roman mythology. It is also based on the Industrial Age , a period human history defined by the replacement of hand production with machinery such as the steam engine .
Its design incorporates elements present in factories and locomotives , such as smokestacks , a large boiler -like body, and industrial pipes . Additionally, it is based on a general theme of pollution , specifically smog and oil .
Name origin [ ]
Erion's name is a combination of era and iron .
