Erycoon are known to help small forest Pokémon. The end of their tail is hollow, which they use like a bag to carry around berries and other small items.
Pokédex entry[]
Pokédex entry
Erycoon is constantly taking care of the forest it calls its home. It carries seeds and berries in its pouch-like tail to be planted or fed to weaker Pokémon.
Erycoon was originally intended to evolve into Leukoon, but was later turned into a counterpart to it instead.
Design origin[]
Erycoon is based on red blood cells, also called erythrocytes. Red blood cells transport oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, similar to how Erycoon carries berries around and supports the forest life around it. Its physical appearance is based on a red panda.
Name origin[]
Erycoon's name is a combination of erythrocyte and raccoon, a species related to the red panda.
