Trivia [ ]
Design origin [ ]
Hydranticus is based on a Glaucus atlanticus , a nudibranch that feeds on venomous jellyfish (such as the Portuguese man o' war) and stores their stinging cells in its finger-like cerata for its own self-defense. Its ability to glide over the ocean's surface as though flying is similar to the behavior of Mobula rays or flying fish .
Name origin [ ]
Hydranticus's name is a combination of hydro , from the Greek word for water, and atlanticus .
