Trivia [ ]
At 155, Magnitogre has the highest HP of all Pokémon in the Sage Pokédex.
Early on a pre-evolution was brought up and designed, but was scrapped for various reasons.
Magnitogre's weight of 455 kg is a reference to the postal code of Magnitogorsk, 455000 .
Design origin [ ]
Magnitogre's concept is based on Magnitogorsk , or the 'City of the Magnetic Mountain', a factory city in Russia.
Its body is reminiscent of a dinosaur , not dissimilar to a stegosaurus , and an industrial boiler with three smokestacks emerging from its back.
The initial concept of Magnitogre was doodled by it's creator during one particularly engaging lesson on Russian history, including it's name. This initial doodle, however, consisted of a mountain with a horseshoe magnet stuck on top and lots of zig-zag magnetism lines.
Later designs depicted Magnitogre as having a human-like face comparable to Nosepass and Probopass . However, ultimately a less anthropomorphic design path was taken.
Name origin [ ]
Magnitogre's name is a combination of Magnitogorsk and ogre .
