Trivia[]

  • Magowl's original colors were taken from Burrowl and then hue-shifted.
  • Burrowl and Magowl were originally intended to be part of the same evolution family, with a shared pre-evolution. The pre-evolution was never successfully created.

Design origin[]

Magowl is based on a Great horned owl and a Great grey owl, with oversized, flightless wings, and a wizard. The large wings were wrapped around Magowl to resemble a cape or a robe, tying in to its wizard-like inspiration.

Both Burrowl and Magowl were originally Great horned owls that had adapted to different biomes in an extreme sense.

Magowl's name is a combination of magic and owl.
