Nobunata fights fearlessly and honorably, standing up for the weak and defenseless. When defeat seems inevitable, it will explode in a flurry of treats.
Nobunaga (from which Nobunata's name is derived; see below) is the namesake of the Nobunaga's Ambition game series, which had a crossover with the Pokémon series in Pokémon Conquest.
Nobutata is a popular candidate for the "Audino Pokemon," meaning it is rare but encounterable throughout the region, similar to a rōnin or wandering samurai, as well as being worth above average EXP, similar to how treats burst out of a piñata when beaten.
Design origin[]
Nobunata is based on a donkey-shaped piñata, wearing Ō-yoroi, a type of armor worn by samurai warriors in feudal Japan. Nobunata's Pokédex entry describes an intrepid and righteous demeanor, virtues expected from the samurai caste.
Name origin[]
Nobunata's name is a combination of the name Nobunaga, referring to Oda Nobunaga, a legendary daimyo, or warlord, who helped to unite the Japanese nation, and piñata.
