Routes in Urobos

Quaver Town is a town located on the shore of a frozen lake in northern Urobos. It is notably home to Foster's Center for Children, which is located inside the Quaver Gym, the first gym in the Urobos League.

Foster, the Gym Leader and owner of the eponymous Center, specializes in Ice-type Pokémon.

To the north is Route 2, which leads through Downward Cave to Tremol Town. To the east is Route 3, which leads to the Forest.

Foster's Center for Children

Foster's Center for Children is located inside of the Quaver Gym. The Center serves as a daycare for preschool children from Quaver and other nearby towns. Foster teaches children at the Center about battling, and jovially recalls how he used to take care of the player when they were young.

Ice Fishing Shack

The Ice Fishing Shack is located to the south-east of the town, atop the frozen lake. The player can reach the shack by navigating a sliding ice puzzle, and obtain the Old Rod from a Fisherman inside.

Trivia

Name origin

  • A quaver is a musical note, whose name is derived from the archaic verb to quaver, meaning to sing in trills (rapid alternation between two adjacent notes). This follows the theme of locations in Urobos being named with musical terms, and may relate to how eight quaver notes (or eighth notes) are equal to one full note, similar to Quaver Gym's badge being the first in a set of eight.
