It uses its axe-like claws to remove trees and other obstacles. When its abdomen is filled with water, Thoraxe puts out fires with pressurized streams.
Thoraxe's water-containing abdomen was originally a more artificial component, but it was later changed to an organic design based on this picture.
Design origin[]
Early concept art for Thoraxe.
Thoraxe's concept comes from a folk etymology interpretation of the phrase "fire ant", i.e. the same way in which the word "fireman" is interpreted to be a man who puts out fires. Thus Thoraxe is an ant that puts out fires.
Its design is based on the honeypot ant, an ant that stores various liquids in its abdomen for later use.
Name origin[]
Thoraxe's name is a combination of thorax and axe.
