Exposed to an unknown code, Vectol has upgraded to Vectol.2. It feeds by using its stinger to download data, leaving computers a corrupt mess afterwards.
The Diloweed, Phlask and Vectol lines were the last evolutionary lines to be confirmed.
Despite being partly based on a computer virus, Vectol is not part Electric-type. This is because the design concept is more about being a techno-organic entity and infecting things, rather than being hardware-based and running on electricity. The Pokémon Porygon and its evolutions are not Electric-types, dual-typed or pure, for similar reasons.
Vectol.2 and its prevolution are the only Pokémon with a varying base experience yield.
Design origin[]
Concept art of Vectol.2
An earlier design of Vectol.2
Vectol is based on both a virus and a computer virus. It is a streamlined version of Vectol with various references to DNA. It is also similar in appearance to a scorpion. Its dual-pronged stinger bears resemblance to an ungrounded AC power plug.
Name origin[]
Vectol.2's name is the name of its previous form, with a version number appended to it as though it was a software update.
