Trivia [ ]
Although Xotec's name comes from Aztec mythology, its design and concept are unrelated to the Aztec culture.
Design origin [ ]
Xotec is based on the South American Quimbaya culture and their gold-working, the Muisca civilization , and El Dorado , a legendary Muisca chief said to have covered himself with gold.
Name origin [ ]
Xotec's name is a contraction of Xipe Totec (an Aztec god of life/death/rebirth, agriculture/maize, and to a lesser extent, of goldsmiths). It is also a combination of Xochi and technology.
